London, UK (7 January 2020): Global media and entertainment firm Alpha1Media on January 7 launched its acclaimed annual list of the top films from around the world which cinema audiences can look forward to watching in 2019.
The ninth edition of the A1Film Top Movies Preview for 2020 highlights 10 essential and 60 interesting films from Hollywood, China, Bollywood, the Middle East, Latin America and the Far East that audiences can look forward to this year.
“According to the A1Film Top Movies Preview, 2020 is the Year of the Era,” said Talal Malik, Chairman and CEO of Alpha1Media. “We have the final James Bond film under the 15-year tenure of Daniel Craig coming to an end with ‘No Time To Die’, and, after three decades, Tom Cruise returning with the sequel ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and Eddie Murphy back in ‘Coming 2 America.’”
In ‘The Quintessential’ category, the top 10 films from across the categories chosen, are Tenet, No Time to Die, Top Gun: Maverick, 1917, Dune, Wonder Woman 1984, Bad Boys for Life, Black Widow, Mulan and Rambo.
In ‘The Intelligent Blockbuster’, the main films chosen are 1917, Dune and Tenet.
In ‘The Franchise’ category, the main films chosen are No Time to Die, Top Gun: Maverick, Bad Boys for Life and No Time to Die and Bill & Ted Face the Music, Coming 2 America, Fast & Furious 9, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Godzilla vs. Kong, Legally Blonde 3, Snake Eye, Sonic the Hedgehog and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.
In ‘The Franchise – Superhero’ category, the main films chosen are Wonder Woman 1984 and Black Widow, as well as films such as Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, Bloodshot, Eternals, Morbius, The New Mutants, Venom 2 and Samaritan.
In ‘The Auteur’ category, the films are Bernstein, Finding the Way Back, Good Morning, Midnight, On the Rocks, Reminiscence, The French Dispatch, The Invisible Man, The King’s Man, The Last Thing He Wanted and The Trial of the Chicago 7.
In ‘The Literary Vehicle’ category, the films are Death on the Nile, The Personal History of David Copperfield, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, The Witches, Greyhound, The Call of the Wild, The Woman in the Window and Without Remorse.
In ‘The Cross-Cultural – World’ category, the chosen films are Mulan and Rambo, and the other films are Jhund, Laal Singh Chaddha, Munna Bhai, Prithviraj, Project X-Traction and Vanguard.
In the ‘Biography’ category, the films are Hillbilly Elegy, King Richard, Mank, Respect and Tesla.
In the ‘Element – Vehicles’ category, the films are Cherry, West Side Story, Jungle Cruise, Stillwater, The Eyes of Tammy Faye and The Last Duel.
In the ‘Women – Empowerment’ category, the films are Bombshell, Emma and Enola Holmes.
In the ‘Sci-Fi’ category, the films are BIOS, Free Guy, Infinite and The Tomorrow War.
In the ‘Ensemble’ category, the films are The Gentlemen and The Last Full Measure.
