29 December 2014: Global diversified media firm Alpha1Media International on December 29 launched its inaugural A1Film Awards for 2014, highlighting the achievements of the global cinema industry over the year.

The A1Film Awards for 2013 highlights films, writers, producers, actors and directors, from Hollywood, Bollywood, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and the Far East which are reflective of the best of global popular cinema in 2014, Alpha1Media™ said.

‘The A1Film Awards List continues to be the only list of its kind, focusing on the achievements of our industry colleagues in popular cinema over 2014,’ said Ms. Felce, Alpha1Media’s official spokesperson.

Alpha1Media™ on 27 December 2013 launched its A1Film List 2014, celebrating the Top 10 Films of 2014. From its A1Film List 2014, Alpha1Media™ awards the following colleagues in the global film industry with the inaugural A1Film Awards 2014, recognising their achievements this year.

The A1Film 2014 Cross-Cultural Lifetime Achievement Award is given to Stan Lee, the American creator of many of Marvel Comics’ top superheroes such as Spider-Man, which have are a global literary and cinematic phenomenon. Lee, who celebrated his 92nd birthday on 28 December 2014, has appeared in all the major Marvel films of characters he has created, including three in this year’s A1Film List 2014, including ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’  at No. 5, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ at No. 9 and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ at No. 10.

Alpha1Media™ met with Stan Lee, the creator of Spider-man, in London at the London Film and Comic Con on July 11 and July 12 and also are the final guest for signing by at his last ever-signing appearance in Europe on July 13. Alpha1Media™ was also the only company to also attend Stan Lee’s first ever webcast in the Middle East at the Middle East Film and Comic Con in Dubai on April 5. Alpha1Media™ were also VIP guests at the World Premiere of The Amazing Spider-man 2, at No 5 on the A1Film List 2014, at the Odeon, Leicester Square, London, UK on April 10, having been VIP guests at the Gala European and UK Premiere of ‘The Amazing Spider-man’, in London on 18 June 2012 (the 50th anniversary of the creation of Spider-man in 1962).

The A1Film 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award is given to American actress Ellen Burstyn. Burstyn, who has been acting since 1950, has won an Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA, during her career which has included leads in films like ‘The Exorcist’ as well as in the Martin Scorcese-directed ‘Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’ for which she won the Oscar. Her latest role was in the Christopher Nolan-directed ‘Interstellar’, No. 1 on the A1Film List 2014.

The A1Film 2013 Best Original Screenplay is given to American-British screenwriter, Jonathan Nolan for ‘Interstellar’, No. 1 on the A1Film List 2014. Nolan was nominated for an Oscar for his screenplay, ‘Memento’ and he also wrote the Batman films, ‘The Dark Knight’, recognised at No. 4 on the IMDB Top 250 films, and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, No. 1 in the A1Film Top 10 List for 2012.

The A1Film 2014 Best Producer is given to American-British producer Christopher Nolan for ‘Interstellar’, No. 1 on the A1Film List 2014, which he also directed and co-wrote. Nolan is also a producer of ‘Transcendence’, No. 7 on the A1Film List 2014, ‘Man of Steel’, No 2 in the A1Film List 2013, and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, No. 1 in the A1Film Top 10 List for 2012. Nolan will also be producing ‘Batman Vs Superman, No. 7 on the A1Film List 2014, ‘Man of Steel’, No 2 in the A1Film List 2013, and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, No. 1 in the A1Film Top 10 List for 2012. Nolan will also be producing ‘Batman Vs Superman’,  with fellow producer, Charles Roven, who won the A1Film List 2013 Best Producer for ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘American Hustle’.

The A1Film 2014 Best Newcomer is given to American actor Dave Bautista for his scene-stealing role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, No. 9 on the A1Film List 2014. Portraying Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel film has brought the Bautista, a former professional wrestler to global audiences, only to be enhanced with his role as Mr. Hinx in the new James Bond film for 2015, ‘Spectre’.

The A1Film 2014 Best Actor in a Non-English Picture is given to Indonesian actor Iko Uwais, ‘The Raid 2: Berandal’, No. 6 in the A1Film List 2014. Uwais, who is an expert in the martial arts of Pencak Silat of Indonesia, stars in the film, a sequel to ‘The Raid’, No. 8 in the A1Film Top 10 List for 2012, with plans announced for a third installment.

The A1Film 2014 Best Non-English Picture is given to British auteur Gareth Evans for ‘The Raid 2: Berandal’, No. 6 in the A1Film List 2014. The film, set, filmed and produced in Indonesia, is the sequel to ‘The Raid’, No. 8 in the A1Film Top 10 List for 2012, with plans announced for a third installment.

The A1Film 2014 Best Actor Award is given to American actor Ben Affleck for his lead role in the David Fincher-directed film, ‘Gone Girl’, No. 2 on the A1Film List 2014. Affleck, who has won 2 Oscars for writing and producing, the latter for ‘Argo’, No. 5 on the A1Film Top 10 List for 2012, will also be starring as Batman in the forthcoming ‘Batman Vs Superman’, co-starring with Henry Cavill, the A1Film 2013 Best Actor for his portrayal of Superman and Clark Kent in ‘Man of Steel’, No 2 in the A1Film List 2013.

The A1Film 2014 Best Actress Award is given to British actress Rosamund Pike for her leading role in ‘Gone Girl’, No. 2 on the A1Film List 2014.  Oxford-educated Pike has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her role, and first appeared opposite Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond film, ‘Die Another Day’.

The A1Film 2014 Best Picture is given to is given to American-British auteur Christopher Nolan for ‘Interstellar’, No. 1 on the A1Film List 2014, which he also produced. The film has been recognised by Alpha1Media™ for contributing to ‘Om the A1-Genre of ‘The Intelligent Blockbuster’. In January 2014, Alpha1Media™ identified ‘Interstellar’ as a top quality film in its A1Film Preview for 2014.

Alpha1Media™ on 27 December 2014 published the A1Film List 2014, which, in order by best film, includes, ‘Interstellar’, ‘Gone Girl’, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ , ‘The Expendables 3’, The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, ‘The Raid 2: Berandal’, ‘Transcendence’ , ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ , ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’.
